Some of my relevant recent development projects:
Grio
Grio is an app studio based in San Francisco, California. As a full-time intern, I worked on the company website and internal time tracking tool, both fixing bugs and implementing new stories (such as the responsive “join-grio” page on the company website, and the capacity to filter projects by client and product manager on the time tracking tool).
Movo Cash
Movo Cash is a payments start-up based in Oakland, California. I built a security dashboard for internal use by the operations team. The Flask/Python backend implemented SQL database queries, search, and flagging. The frontend is minimal, because not public-facing.
The Berkeley Revolution
“The Bay Area in the 1970’s” was a spring 2017 course offered by Professor Scott Saul of the UC Berkeley English Department. Students of the class curated the content of the archive, and I created the fully custom WordPress website. Slate Magazine offers a positive review of our site here.
SisterWeb
Along with three other students in my Software Engineering class at Mills, I created a social network for women in tech using Ruby on Rails. Users can sign up directly, or through Twitter or Facebook; create blog posts; comment on each other’s posts; and view a calendar of events relevant to the community.
StreetStories Oakland
Along with two other English professors at Mills, I co-taught the first digital humanities class in the English Department: a digital tour of the city of Oakland. I managed the implementation of the class website using the turnkey solution, Curatescape.
Lectio
I have co-founded a company with the above two professors, and Lectio is our product: an image annotation tool (still in stealth mode!) for classroom use. Development is in progress with Ruby on Rails.
My Personal Website
Last but not least, the present site! I have customized the Masonic WordPress theme for my own use.
